Quarter finals at the Camp Nou = plenty of goals!

Recent Champions League quarter finals at the Camp Nou have been full of goals. 

Barça have scored 16 in the last four home games at this stage of the competition

The team are unbeaten at home in the competition since October 20th 2009, when Rubin Kazan beat them.

If there is one thing this Wednesday’s game against PSG seems certain to produce it’s entertainment, as both teams fight it ourt for a place in the semi-finals. 

The first leg in Paris showed that both teams are committed to attacking football.

Barça’s spectacular record in home quarter finals over the last four years is also a pretty good indicator of what we can expect: the team have scored 16 goals and only conceded three.

Goals flow at the Camp Nou

Last season’s victims at this stage were AC Milan, who felt the full force of Messi, Iniesta, Villa and company’s attacking power when they went down 3-1. 

But they were just the latest in a line of sufferers, with Shaktar Donetsk handed out an even bigger hiding the season before, as Barça won 5-1.

The season before that, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal – led by Cesc Fabregas- watched helplessly as Leo Messi’s four goals in the 4-1 win wiped out the 2-2 draw in London as Barça marched into the semis Pep Guardiola’s debut as manager at this stage saw the team roll over Bayern Munich 4-0 in the first leg.

Unbeaten for nearly four years

Another point in Barça’s favour is there brilliant home record in the completion – 20 games unbeaten since October 2009, when Rubin Kazan won a group stage game 1-2 and winners in the last six quarter finals, with Juventus the last team to get the better of them, way back in the 2002/03 season.
